[Technical tips] Use Console Redirection with Vortex86 platform

This article will provide instructions on using Console Redirection on the Vortex86 platform to provide access from a PC.

Hardware requirement:

VDX3-6754 or other Vortex 86 Board
A PC with a COM port and Windows OS w/Hyper Terminal (this example will be using Windows 10)
A D-sub 9 pin Female to Female Cable.

Enabling Console Redirection on the VDX3-6754:

Power on and then press

Del
```
to access BIOS settings.
Enable Remote Access from BIOS settings.
Please go to Advanced → Remote Access and set to

[Enable]
```
. Please refer to image below:
Press

F10
```
to save the BIOS settings.

Configure PuTTY in Windows 10:

Download the PuTTY from PuTTY's official website: putty.org.
Run PuTTY.
Choose the correct COM port (on your PC side; ex: COM3 in this article) and set the speed to 115200.
Restart the VDX3-6754, and you will see the boot up screen from PuTTY on your PC.
You can press the

```
key on your PC to enter the BIOS settings of the VDX3-6754.
Or you can press the

F11
```
key to choose the boot device.
