[Technical tips] EBOX Mini PC Linux Debian 12 Installation

We would like to show how to use EBOX to install the Debian 12.

EBOX-58N

Preparation:

  1. Windows PC x1 pcs.
  2. EBOX Mini PC x1 pcs (Applicable to EB-58, EB-336x, DIN PC-336x, 335xDX3 Series)
  3. Download tool Rufus 4.2
  4. Download Debian 12 Image 32-bit Image Debian-12.1.0-i386-netinst.iso for Vortex86 EB-336x, DIN PC-336x, 335xDX3 Series.
  5. Download Debian 12 Image 64-bit Image Debian-12.1.0-amd64-netinst.iso for Intel Braswell EB-58 Series.

Use tool Rufus to create Debian 12 installer:

  1. Connect USB drive to Windows PC, and double click rufus-4.2 to execute.
  2. Select Boot selection as corresponding Debian-12.1.0-i386.iso

  3. Click START
  4. ISOHybrid image detected, select Write in ISO Image mode and click OK.

  5. A warning message appear, click OK to continue this operation.

  6. Click CLOSE and remove USB drive from Windows PC. Debian 12 installer is created.

Install Debian 12 to EBOX Mini PC

Boot up EBOX with Debian 12 USB installer and connect to internet, follow below steps:

  1. Before installation, please insert the USB or your external storage

  2. Select Graphical install

  3. Select a language and click Continue

  4. Select your location and click Continue

  5. Set Debian as Hostname
    Debian12_4
  6. Click Continue and skip Domain name
    Debian12_5
  7. Click Continue and skip root and password
    Debian12_6
  8. Set up new user's name

  9. Set up new user's password
    Debian12_8
  10. Configure the clock
    Debian12_9
  11. Select Guided - use entire disk
    Debian12_10
  12. Select the storage to install
    Debian12_11
  13. Select Yes to continue
    Debian12_12
  14. Select No and click Continue
    Debian12_13
  15. Choose Software Xfce to install
    Debian12_14
  16. Select the disk to install GURB boot loader
    Debian12_15
  17. Select Yes and click continue to install the GURB boot loader
    Debian12_16
  18. After process completed, remove Debian 12 USB installer from EBOX Mini PC
  19. Reboot EBOX, Debian 12 boot up completed
